Conference on 15th July 2006

Opening Speech: Mr. B. Mathew Manoharan,
Chairman ATP-UK.
This year's conference, whose theme was: Supporting and engaging individuals and organisations in community development, was held in the comfortable surroundings of the Lewisham Professional Development Centre, Forest Hill.
Our main agenda in calling the conference was to find ways to help bridge the gap which exists between younger and older generations of Tamils in the UK. We also explored fresh ideas to assist the younger generation of Tamils to fully integrate; to be able to take a responsible, active role within the community, and make a positive contribution to society as a whole. In his concluding remarks, the Chairman of ATP-UK, Mr. B. M M. Manoharan, gave a clearer insight into the mission of ATP-UK, and stated his vision behind the conference.
